Summer 2021
At its July 13, 2021 meeting, Town Council unanimously approved the updated Connect Morrisville Strategic Plan for 2021-2024. There were over nine months of collaboration between the Morrisville community, staff, and elected officials, resulting in a comprehensive plan update. It was important to take time to review and discuss each element in order to deliver an updated plan reflective of current community and organizational needs, as well as future aspirations.
The Town's mission, vision, four core values, and six goals remain the same. Staff was able to streamline and organize the plan to 17 objectives, 17 initiatives, and 20 outcome measures. Staff developed a comprehensive plan document featuring a narrative of plan development and update processes, a reference section providing further detail for numerous elements, and a glossary of terms. A color scheme and graphic was assigned to each goal, and can be referenced throughout. A one-page version of the plan was also designed to further showcase the linear alignment of objectives, initiatives, and outcome measures, and it provides all pertinent plan information in one location.
Spring 2021
The Connect Morrisville Strategic Plan was originally adopted in April 2018. Since that time, much has been accomplished in the community. Over three weeks in the spring, staff solicited feedback on the current plan from coworkers, community members, and area partners, and asked what ideas they might like to see included or removed from the next plan. Staff compiled the feedback and shared with Town Council in April. They received additional feedback and guidance from Council. They synthesized all feedback and data to create an updated draft plan for consideration and adoption at Council's June meeting.
